All creative work that is published is copyrighted whether the copyright symbol (on the right) is included with the work or not.  Even if the copyright is not filed.  The purpose of the copyright is to protect the author of the work from unauthorized use.

I copyright all of my photography and have done so since 1972, when I worked for the UT Daily Beacon.  In fact, I copyright all of my creative work, my writings and even this web site. 

I copyright work that I do for you as well and depending upon the arrangements we have, transfer some or all rights to that work to you.  I do this for your protection as well as mine.

First and foremost, by copyrighting my photographs, it discourages people from using my photographs without my permission.  First, by controlling how and when and where my photographs are used, I can ensure that my work
